Lyng Sweater

The Lyng Sweater is a beginner-friendly pattern and a great choice for your first project with simple colourwork.

Lyng means “heather” in Norwegian — the soft purple-pink plant that covers our hillsides — and it’s also the colour that inspired the very first Lyng Sweater. I hope this project brings you the same joyful feeling as it brought me when I created it 🌟

Knitted on 10mm needles, available in Norwegian and English

Needle: 

• 10 mm, 80 cm + 60/50 cm for sleeves
• 8 mm, 80 cm + 50/40 cm for ribbing

Size:

XS / S / M / L / XL

Bust circumference:
80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 cm

Sleeve length:
48 cm for all sizes

Length (from shoulder):
54 / 56 / 56 / 58 / 60 cm

Gauge:

10 cm horizontally = 16 stitches
10 cm vertically = 13.5 rows

Yarn:

Recommended yarn: Bella by Permin (50g ≈ 145m) or another similar chunky yarn.

Three-coloured version:
Colour 1 (base): 200 g / 250 g / 300 g / 300 g / 300 g
Colour 2: 100 g / 150 g / 150 g / 150 g / 150 g
Colour 3: 100 g / 150 g / 150 g / 150 g / 150 g

Two-coloured version:
Colour 1 (base): 250 g / 250 g / 300 g / 300 g / 300 g
